Three Years Degree Course in Arts & Science

GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN ARTS :

The General Course structure for the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)programme shall be as below –

SUBJECT COMBINATION (ARTS) :

1.   Compulsory Subjects

(i)        General English – I, II, III Semester of General Programme &  I, II Semester of Major Programme.

(ii)     MIL (Assamese/Alt English)– I, II, IV Semester of General Programme &  I, II Semester (Major Programme).

(iii)      Computer skill/communicative skill – III, Semester for General & Major Programme.

(iv)     Skill based – V, VI, Semester of General Programme.

(v)       Environmental studies – III Semester for both General & Major Programme.

(vi)     Multi disciplenary – IV Semester for both General & Major.

2.        Elective Subjects :
            Economics, Political Science, Education, Sociology, History,             Mathematics, Anthropology.

PROCEDURE FOR MAJOR SELECTION :      

The college offers Major course in the following subjects – English, Assamese, Economics, Political Science, Education, Sociology, History, Mathematics.

The selection of students for offering Major is done by the concerned Department as per seat capacity on the basis of merit.

 


GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN SCIENCE :

The General Course structure for the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)programme shall be as below –

1.   There shall be a compulsory course on Environmental Studies of 100 marks in Semester III which to be evaluated in grades.

2.   There shall be 20 marks for internal assessment and 80 marks for end semester examination in each course during every semester.

3.   The syllabus for each course shall be devided into modules or unit and question shall be set from each unit and students shall be required to answer question from each unit.

PROCEDURE FOR MAJOR SELECTION :      

1.    The college offers Major course in the following subjects : Mathematics, Botany.      

2.The selection of student for offering Major is done by the concerned Department as per seat capacity on the basis of merit.

N.B.:-  The Degree shall be offered to each candidate, who has passed the six Semester Degree BA/B.Sc./B.Com programme in the following manner :

           A student, who secures 60% and above marks in all the courses individ-ually in all the semesters shall be declared have passed with first division (in case of the student pursuing general programme) with distinction a first class (in case of the student pursuing Major/Speciality Programme) with distinction.
